The administration has stripped Endangered Species Act protection from the lesser prairie-chicken which faces risk of extinction.

Trump issued an Executive Order to open one of the largest marine preserves in the world to commercial fishing.  

The Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument is the only US protected area in the Atlantic Ocean. Trump reopened it to commercial fishing.

The Trump administration wants to divert millions from a fund dedicated to expanding parks and outdoor access and use it for other expenses. This action would violate the law and put local conservation projects at risk.

The Trump administration is trying to dismantle AmeriCorps - a cornerstone of youth service and conservation work in America. They've already taken major steps. But we can save AmeriCorps. 

The Trump administration has already made cuts to staffing and funding for the National Park Service. Now they want to go much further. The cuts would do severe harm to our national parks and the cherished places they protect.

In June 2025, the Trump Administration announced that it will rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Rule. This landmark conservation rule protects 58.5 million acres of National Forest land across 38 states from future roadbuilding and logging. 

Victory for public lands! Republicans in the Senate and the House were pushing provisions to sell public lands. The attempt to sell our federal lands sparked widespread public outcry. In both chambers, these provisions were ultimately defeated. 

The Trump Administration has taken steps to reduce in size or eliminate six national monuments to open up oil, gas, and mining development. 

Trump - citing his directive against DEI - cancelled $75 million in grants to over 100 nonprofit organizations that funded tree planting initiatives in cities and towns across the country.

The Trump administration  and Republicans in Congress are advancing sulfide-ore copper mining by a Chilean company near Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). 

The Trump administration canceled FEMA grant funding for flood mitigation projects nationwide which included $5.8 million in funding to Dover Township to restore the Little Conewago a Creek floodplain back to its pre-settlement condition.  

Trump is pushing for development of a 211 mile industrial route through remote, roadless protected areas of Alaska.

The Trump administration has formally proposed a rule change for the Endangered Species Act (ESA). If enacted, this change would severely weaken the law's protection of endangered species. 

The administration cancelled $11.2 million in funding for a coastal resilience and dune restoration project. 

Our National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS) protects 856 million total acres of our nation's most important ecological areas. The Trump Administration has cut staff 25% and proposed steep budget cuts - pushing the Refuge System into deep crisis. 

This is a code red moment for conservation. The USGS Ecosystem Mission Area (EMA) is the backbone of our nation's ecological research. The Trump administration is trying to eliminate the EMA. The consequences will be devastating for ecological science and conservation. We need to stop this.  

The Trump administration has taken steps to dismantle NOAA Research.  These programs enable our nation to monitor and respond to climate change, extreme weather events, and oceanic health. 

This is another important restoration project stopped in its tracks due to Trump's funding freezes. The project was intended to improve river and stream health throughout the Connecticut River Watershed.

A defining environmental line in the sand for over 40 years, drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is on the cusp of happening. Several environmental and Alaska Native groups have sued to stop oil and gas exploration in ANWR. Give them all the support you can.
